Rema’s Career
Rema became famous from the release of “Iron Man”. He entered into a recording contract with Mavin Records’ subsidiary Jonzing World in 2019. Rema shared a popular freestyle to D’Prince song “Gucci Gang” on Instagram in 2018. D’Prince saw the saw the post and loved it. In 2019, Rema was signed to a record deal with D’Prince’s Jonzing World, a division of Mavin Records owned by music executive Don Jazzy. He followed up with the self-titled debut EP “Rema,” which reached the top spot on Apple Music Nigeria. Th music video for “Dumebi,” a standout track from his self-titled P, was released on May 21 by Jonzing World and Mavin.

On MArch 25, 2022, Rema released his debut album Rave & Roses, which came after two additional EPs. 6lack, Chris Brown, AJ Tracey, and Yseult all featured on the album’s 16 tracks. After its first week, the album debuted at number 10 on the US Billboard Afrobeats Chart with 10 tracks. Five months after it’s official release, his single “Calm Down,” which featured a sample from fellow Nigerian artist Crayon’s song “So Fine” began charting.
