Harrysong’s Career
Harrysong began playing the conga at age eleven in the church where his mother was the music director before moving on to study modern gospel music. He gained fame after his song honoring Nelson Mandela won The Headies “Most Downloaded Callertune Award” of 2013. In 2007, he moved to Lagos after spending some of his early life in Port Harcourt.
Harrysong used to perform in nightclubs before joining QuestionMark Entertainment. Then he met Kcee, who introduced him to prominent musicians which led him to signing for Five Star Music. After the release of his number-one song “Beta Pikin,” Harrysong received a nomination for “Best Pop/R&B Artist of the Year” at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
His breakthrough came with the release of the singles “I’m In Love” and “Taiye & Kehinde,” the former of which had a music video that topped charts on Trace TV. Through QuestionMark Entertainment, he later released his first album, Testify, in 2012. He did, however, collaborate with Davido on a brand-new song titled Bumbumbum that was published right before the coronavirus spread to Nigeria.
