Peters is the son of Clarion Chukwura, an actress from Anambra State, Nigeria and musician Sir Shina Peters. His mother revealed in an interview posted on Daily Times of Nigeria, that she had considered having an abortion while she was carrying him but had changed her mind because she thought Peters was the reincarnation of her father, who she had lost when she was 11 years old.
Peters played football as a kid. Prior to attending Government College Ikorodu, he attended Beehive Primary School. He spent three years working at Alpha Visions after completing his secondary education. At City Varsity, a film school in Cape Town, South Africa, he pursued a Cinematography degree.
Peters joined together with a group of filmmakers when he returned to Nigeria to form the Alliance Film Company, which is now known as the Allied Film Company. Peters spent a year working for the company before launching his own production company.

Clarence Peters is the founder and CEO of the production business Capital Dream Pictures, which specializes in the fields of the performing arts, film, and video. Chidinma, Tha Suspect, and Illbliss are all signed to Capital Hill Records, a record label which was founded and is run by him.
